Doyle
"As a Trinidadian by birth,
I am fascinated by my unique culture and heritage. My experience
has developed my consciousness in national identity and imagery.
Through the use of iconography and colour, I am making my
mark."
D.O.B.:
22 September 1983
Painter,
designer and musican, Karl Doyle has been a student of the
arts from the year 1999 to present. While studying at the
University of the West Indies (UWI), St.Augustine (Trinidad)
2003 - 2006,
he has been introduced to a series of courses which not only
presented to him the theories behind the creation of art,
but also afforded him the opportunity to develop his own artistic
ideals and methodology that are very much integral in the
creation of one's own style and identity in the already saturated
world of art.
Karl
first exhibited in the year 2001 with the senior-school art
students of Queen's
Royal College (Q.R.C.), St.Clair, (Port-of-Spain,
Trinidad), and has subsequently participated in six (6) shows;
two photography exhibitions hosted by the UWI Photography
Club in 2003 and 2005, two joint exhibitions with a fellow
painter and musician, Astar Bishop, "THE SHAPE OF LIFE"
held at the Art Creators Gallery, St.Anns, Port-of-Spain in
September 2004, and "MUSIC, FILM, ART, POETRY" August
2006 at Q.R.C.. The UWI French Society's Charity event 2005,
and the 2006 Graduating Class' Exhibition of the UWI Centre
for Creative and Festival Arts’ BA Visual Arts Programme,
held at The National Museum of Trinidad and Tobago, were both
exhibiting spaces. |
